How to Improve Your Wellness at Work

How to Improve Your Wellness at Work

We spend an average of 2080 hours a year working. That’s A LOT of hours…

Since most people don’t have the option to cut back their work schedule to build in more time for self-care, it’s so important to make the most of your workdays and ensure that you’re taking care of your health and wellness.

So while you’re checking off the countless tasks on your never-ending to-do list at the office (or while working from home!), make sure you’re checking off these ones too…

Incorporate Physical Activity

Take short and frequent breaks to get up from your desk, stretch and move around your office or workspace. Better yet, step outside and get some fresh air! You can also take it a step further and engage in a little friendly competition by challenging yourself and your co-workers to walking/step-count challenges.

Bring The Outdoors In

Spruce up your space with plants and greenery! Adding indoor plants to your workspace has many positive benefits! They help lower stress, stabilize moods, and boost attention span, productivity and creativity. They help improve air quality and reduce illness and absence rates. And they look nice!! If you’re not sure how to keep indoor plants alive, check out our blog post for some helpful tips.

Get Comfortable

Set-up an ergonomic workstation so that you feel as comfortable as possible while you work. Not only will this help improve your performance, but it can reduce or prevent repetitive-use injuries in the long-run.

Focus on Your Mental Health

When you have some down-time during the day, connect with co-workers, family or friends. Enjoying non-work related conversations with team members, impromptu phone calls with loved ones, or group chats with your besties during your breaks can help improve your mood and your mindset. If you’re feeling too mentally drained to converse, use this time to meditate, listen to an uplifting podcast episode, or simply do anything else that will fill your cup. Leaving work out of sight and out of mind for even just a short period of time will help you come back to it feeling refreshed and re-energized.

Make Nutrition a Necessity

Whether you’re in an office with a team or working solo from home, it helps to have easy-to-grab fruits and healthy snacks available to enjoy. When you order one of our Balanced Snack Boxes, you’ll get a jam-packed box of better-for-you snacks delivered right to your door each month! And when it comes to lunch, make sure you’re eating it AWAY from your desk/computer so you get a well-deserved break and you’re more conscious about what foods you’re eating and how you’re consuming your meal.

We hope these tips help you make your health and wellness a top priority at work. By taking care of yourself, you’ll actually have a more productive workday, so it’s a win-win for everyone!!
