Family Random Acts of Kindness
Family time is always a great time!
We’ve provided a list of random acts of kindness ideas that’s a great way to teach your kid(s) the importance of kindness while lifting up the spirit of others.
Prepare a Meal
Preparing a meal for a new or lonely neighbour is an act of kindness that would be appreciated. Not only will you be cooking up a storm, but it’s also a great introduction on teaching your kids how to cook and prepare a meal. You could have a chef-in-the-making without even knowing it!
Volunteer at an Animal Shelter
Volunteering at an animal shelter is a great act of kindness! You’ll be able to interact with different animals. In doing so, you and your family can play with them, give them a bath, and overall keep them safe. It will teach your children valuable life lessons like responsibility, trust, compassion, respect and patience! Here’s a heads up: you may be a own a pet soon after!
Choose a Charity
Search for charitable organizations with your kids and have them choose which one they can donate a portion of their allowance to. We recommend purchasing a separate piggy bank to help them easily manage where to put part of their allowance.
Help Someone in Need
Another act of kindness may not always appear at home, as it can sometimes be in public. For example, helping someone in need could be holding the door open for them or offering to carry an elderly person’s groceries to their car. These random acts of kindness can simply be taught to your family.
Donate New Toys/Supplies
If you live in a household that simply has a bunch of new and unused toys or art supplies, try personally dropping off these extra items to a children’s hospital. Seeing that you and your family put a smile on the young patients’ faces will leave you all feeling happy and grateful.
