Post Workout Snacks

You’ve finally finished your workout. That should have been the hard part, right? But then your stomach growls. You’re hungry. The right post workout snack will help supply your body with the right nutrients while helping to maximize the benefits of your workout. Still unsure? Well stop wondering what to eat, and check out our list of perfect post workout snacks below!

Greek Yogurt with Berries – top some protein-packed Greek yogurt with your fav blend of berries.

Fruit Protein Smoothie – blend up a smoothie with your favourite fruit, a spoon of yogurt and a scoop of protein powder.

Popcorn with a Protein Kick – air popped popcorn with chocolate or vanilla protein powder sprinkled on top.

Crispy Roasted Chickpeas – a crispy, healthy snack that you can make yourself, or buy for added convenience! Mix it up with sweet or savoury flavours.

Tuna Salad with Whole Grain Crackers – mix up your fav tuna salad (ours has mayo, lemon and dill) and swap the bread for whole grain crackers!

Trail Mix – super easy to make at home, mix your fav blend of nuts (almonds, cashews, peanuts, etc.) with seeds (pumpkin, sunflower) and some dried fruit (cranberries, raisins, apricots etc.). Try mixing in some of your Balanced Snack Box favourites for your own unique blend!

Apple with Peanut or Almond Butter – a classic snack that refuels your body with protein and the crunchy sweetness of an apple.

Roasted Almonds – pre-package and portion these in snack size containers for an easy, satisfying snack.

Avocado Toast with Egg – our take on this trendy snack is to top the mashed avocado with a fried egg and a sprinkle of Everything Bagel seasoning.

Hummus with Whole Wheat Pita and Veggies – dip whole wheat pita and cut carrots or cucumber in hummus (homemade or store bought), we love the roasted garlic variety.

Turkey and Cheese Roll Up – spread some soft cheese on a turkey slice and roll it up for a protein filled snack.

Hard Boiled Eggs – a simple but tasty snack that you can elevate by ‘deviling’ ahead of time!
