Since nothing beats comfort when wearing loungewear, tie dye clothing also allows us to have fun experimenting with unconventional colour combos. Wearing a pop of colour can simply brighten your day and making tie dye clothing is also a great summer activity! If you want to follow this revived fashion trend, here’s what you’ll need.
Tie Dye Essentials
- A white or light-toned piece of clothing such as a pastel-coloured shirt
- Tie dye colours
- Rubber bands
- Rubber gloves
- Warm water
- Squeeze bottles for dye
- Tub/large container to place soaking clothing
- Paper towels
- Zipper plastic bag
Best Tie Dye Colour Combos
Here are three tie dye colour combinations that never get old, especially if you’re new to the tie dyeing game.
Single Colour
You can add one colour of dye to your piece of clothing for a simple look or spice it up a bit more when you use multiple shades of the one colour of dye to your piece of clothing.
Two Colour Combo
For a two-colour tie dye combo, it’s best to use two primary colours or one primary colour with a secondary colour. Here are some examples:
- Red + Yellow
- Red + Blue
- Blue + Yellow
- Red + Purple
- Blue + Pink
- Green + Yellow Rainbow
Rainbow
Go back to the origin of a tie dye shirt and dye yours into the colours of a rainbow. It can be neon, pastel or something in between. For best results, make sure to apply the colours in the same order of a rainbow that way you don’t need to worry about the colours clashing next to each other.
